Leica M3 body

The Leica M3 - 1959 - is the first Leica M-camera. In its final form regarded by many users as the finest rangefinder camera ever made. Over a quarter million were built in thirteen years. Production ceased in 1966.

Characteristics

• Viewfinder frames: permanent - 50 mm; selective - 90 mm, 135 mm. 35 mm lenses provided with oculars to fit in front of viewfinder and rangefinder windows to convert 50 mm frame to 35 mm or external viewfinders

• Viewfinder magnification 0.91x nearly life size
  
• Exposure counter resets to two divisions below „0“ when filmspool is unloaded and advances to "0" when the two leader exposures are made on loading the new film
