Leica M6 classic

The Leica M6 classic - 1992 - is a Leica M which was an alternative to the ubiquitous SLR for professionals and other serious photographers.

Characteristics

  • The camera is the same size as the original M3, with the M4-P body and viewfinder frames, but with fully electronic TTL metering
  • The most prominent feature when the lens is removed is the 12 mm silvered spot on the first shutter blind
  • Two evenly lit triangular red diodes visible in viewfinder when exposure is correct. If one only is lit it indicates overexposure or underexposure
  • Battery where self-timer was situated on earlier cameras
  • All cameras manufactured in Germany, at Wetzlar at first, then at Solms
  • Including body cap.
